Born in Roseburg, Oregon, Dr. Buehler received his undergraduate degree from Oregon State University, where he was a pitcher for the varsity baseball team. He was named a Rhodes Scholar and went on to earn a master of arts degree in political economy from Oxford University. He completed his M.D. at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Maryland and did his internship and Orthopedic residency at Oregon Health Sciences University. Dr. Buehler then finished his training at Scripps Clinic in San Diego, California where he did a fellowship in joint replacement and arthritis surgery
In addition to general Orthopedics, Dr. Buehler specializes in total joint reconstruction of the hip and knee. He is a member of the board of advisers for Oregon State University's Cascades Campus and the board of directors of the Western Orthopedic Association, and chairman of the Mid-Oregon Osteoporosis Network. He and his wife, Patricia, have two children, a son and a daughter. He enjoys downhill skiing, reading history, and watching college football.
